Jill Covert

Hello and welcome to my e-portfolio! My name is Jill Covert and I teach Peace Studies at San Diego City College. I graduated from the University of San Diego's Peace & Justice Studies program in 2009 and did my thesis in Guatemala on Femicide. After graduating, I discovered teaching and have become extremely passionate about peace education as a means to spread the values of peace, especially to younger generations. At City College, it has been amazing for me to watch the transformation of students go from not knowing anything about nonviolent alternatives to conflict to being true believers in its possibilities. I'm also enjoying the opportunity to collaborate with the Teachers without Borders Peace Education Program. Working with teachers around the world to enhance peace education in their curriculum is both exciting and inspiring for me.
